It's about to go down. Snowmaking is slated to start November 15th.
Don't know about you, but we're really excited for the 13/14 season to get started at Q Burke and that excitement is going to reach a whole new level once we start to fire up the snow guns. If Mother Nature cooperates, we're targeting November 15th to get going. We've been showing the love to our snowmaking system recently - last year we added more guns. This year? More power. Thanks to the recent approval of the interruptible service tariff by the Vermont Public Service Board in conjunction with the Lyndonville Electric Department, we've doubled our available power for snowmaking. We''ll spare you all the nuts and bolts details, but the bottom line is that more power + more guns = more snow. And we don't think we need to tell you that more snow is awesome.

Hi Burkies! Does anyone else feel like their summer has slipped away from them? The calendar says it is practically August, but up here at Burke we are hanging on to summertime and sunshine for as long as we can… (at least until Marge is ready to be fired up). In order for you to get the most out of the rest of your summer we have tons of fun events happening here at the mountain and we invite you to join in!

Hello Burkies! Raindrops falling on your heads? They aren't falling up here at Burke. (Well... maybe a few, but we don't let that stop the fun!) There's a lot going on in spite of our slightly soggy conditions and we want you to know all about them. So here we go, a little blog about bikes, burgers and beer.

Day 2 brought in some grease time and the crew got fully versed in fork operation, repair and maintenance-after some chalk talk on suspension theory, of course. We continued the day with brake design, operation, installation, fluid bleeds and maintenance.

As we head into the tail end of the winter, it should be no secret that we are enjoying the best conditions of the season right now. It is hard to believe that most of the winter is already behind us, which is even more reason to make a trip to Burke this month and enjoy the great snow conditions and weather. It has been a very busy season so far with a lot of ups and downs, coupled with news and excitement about the future of Burke Mountain. I will save my year in review post until after we close in mid April, but would like to take the opportunity now to introduce two new faces you have probably read about in local press and Burke media, seen around the mountain, and hopefully have had a chance to meet.
