BURKE MOUNTAIN SNOW REPORT FORECAST.
Photo taken 3.23.2017. We are expecting another 3-5 inches this afternoon (Friday, March 24th) which will be a fantastic surface refresher for the slopes of Burke Mountain. Burke remains 100% open with our trails prior to the storm holding up nicely. A perfect blend of machine groomed/packed powder is what you'll find on the slopes of Burke Mountain. Spring might be what the calendar says but winter remains here in the Kingdom. Our ski/ride operational plan has been extended with the last day for our lower mountain area scheduled for Sunday, April 2nd. The lower mountain trails will then close Sunday, April 2nd while our summit lift including Mid Burke and the Bear Den remain open through Sunday, April 9th. We'll plan to close midweek Monday, 4/10 through Friday, 4/14 with our last weekend of skiing and riding for the 2017+18 season scheduled for Saturday, 4/15 & Sunday, 4/16. Visit skiburke.com/events for the full lineup of fun through the end of season including Pond Skim, Saturday 3/25, live music and buck-a-shuck clams on Saturday, April 1st and the World Gone Crazy Comedy and Music Show Saturday, April 15th.
The Dashney Nordic Center is open, trail shown below is Candy Bar Hill. Nordic grooming happens about 2-3 times/week; be sure to check skiburke.com/nordic for the latest updates and conditions report. Lessons and rentals are available by request by emailing email@example.com. The nordic center is right down the road from the Burke Mountain Hotel and Conference Center (approx 5 minutes) on Dashney Road, off of Mountain Road.
The Burke Mountain Hotel & Conference Center is conveniently located just 7 miles from the Lyndonville/Burke exit, number 23 off Interstate 91. Perhaps Vermont's Best Kept Secret with virtually no lift lines (especially midweek), over 2,000 vertical, two high speed quads, 36 trails and 14 glades we may be easy-to-find but hard-to-forget.
Featuring 116 suites ranging from studios to three bedroom, the ski-in ski-out Hotel is one of Vermont's finest slope side accommodations. With views from nearly every window, the Hotel is a comfortable family-friendly setting. If our 14 glades or 36 ski trails don't tucker you out you may want to try a guided snowshoe hike or nordic skiing in our neighboring 15 kilometers of trails. Fat biking is also an alternative at Kingdom Trails with easy trailhead access directly from the resort.
But enough about alternatives, Burke Mountain is home to some of the best alpine skiing in the Northeast, not to mention astounding views from every direction. Most noticeable is our signature view "The Gap", literally a gap in the mountains carved by the deepest glacier lake in the state Lake Willoughby. To the west on a clear day you can see the Presidential Range and Mt. Washington from our East Bowl Trail and from the east, our neighbors including Stowe and Jay Peak.
Inside the Hotel you'll find a cozy day lodge to relax in, restaurant, pub, arcade, fitness center and even a heated pool and hot tub (well, those are outside but still a pleasure after a journey-filled day).
We invite you to come and visit our little corner of the Kingdom. You may just fall in love....like we have.
