Owl Moon Adventure 6:30 to 7:30 pm
Great for the whole family, and designed to capture the attention of kids and kids at heart! NorthWoods Stewardship Center will share a captivating slideshow about the owls that make their year-round or seasonal home in Vermont. How many eyelids does an owl have? Where are its ears? And, how do they fly so silently? Find the answers to these questions, and discover other unique adaptations and characteristics of this fascinating species. A special guest appearance by Oberon, a rehabilitated barred owl who has lived in a mew at NorthWoods for the past 8 years, will provide participants a rare opportunity to see these features up close. Following the indoor presentation, NorthWoods staff will share the story, "Owl Moon" by Jane Yolden and head out on snowshoes for a short trek and a chance to do some owling of our own.
NorthWoods Will provide snowshoes, but if you would like to bring your own feel free! or if you don't plan on staying for the second half thats ok too.
