Grace Potter Brings Down the House at the Tamarack Grill Saturday Night

A year after Grace Potter’s astonishingly soulful and passionate vocals launched a crowd of 2,200 concert goers into an absolute frenzy at the inaugural Burke Mountain Music Festival in September, 2007, she returned to the Tamarack Grill for a solo performance and swept the sell-out crowd of 150 off its feet.  “Exhilarating, exciting, what a performance.  She’s incredible,” exhaled one concert-goer on her way out the door.

The Waitsfield, Vermont native won over the Northeast Kingdom again Saturday night, as she poured her heart into solo renditions of “Ah Mary”, “Stop the Bus” and a powerful rendition of “Big White Gate”, which featured Grace on a baby grand piano that was brought into the Tamarack specifically for her show.  Song after song, the raucous crowd separated themselves from their seats in a flurry of ovations, “Never before has the Tamarack Grill seen a show like this,” beamed Jason Palmer, Burke Mountain’s Food & Beverage Manager.

In her second set, Grace was joined by Nocturnals drummer Matthew Burr, adding fuel to a scene that erupted with delirious Grace-crazed fans singing along.  After nearly two hours of riveting music from all four of the band’s albums, Grace mingled with fans, signed autographs and even shared a cheer or two; truly Vermont’s Own!
