2010/2011 SnowSports Learning Center
SEASON-LONG PROGRAMS
The Burke Mountain Snowsports Learning Center offers season-long Explorer and Freestyle programs for a variety of abilities for both skiing and snowboarding. Your child will be placed in a group with instructors who focus on fun, safety and technique.Offered Weekends, 9:30am to noon December 26, 20010 through March 12, 2011. (first week classes are on Sunday 12/26 and Monday 12/27, due to Christmas on Saturday)

NEW PROGRAMS FOR 2010/2011
Explorer Bombers: Designed for those who aren’t ready to commit to a full season long program, this 6 week weekend program will run from December 26-January 30, 2011. (first week classes are on Sunday 12/26 and Monday 12/27, due to Christmas on Saturday)
$299.00Burke Bombers:Season long program for advanced skiers and riders with a different focus each weekend on different disciplines ranging from bumps, tree skiing, racing, etc. Ages 11-13.

Explorer Programs for Skiers
Mini E’s (ages 4-5)
This program is specially designed to create a safe, gentle, nurturing environment with the assistance of caring, skilled instructors who understand the unique emotional needs of the young spirit. This is a playful experience that allows them to develop their skills on the slope while they mature emotionally. Many of the children who experience this kind of positive nurturing at an early age will go on to be leaders in our Teen Program.Mountain Explorer
Ages 4-8: Lower Mountain Explorer
The focus in this program is to develop and improve the basic skills of skiing – stance, turn shape, carving, effective use of ski poles on gentle green terrain, with an introduction to gates.Ages 5-9: Lower & Upper Mountain
The next stage in your child’s skills progression. Using a variety of green and blue terrain to improve balance, stance, edging skills and an introduction to gates while maintaining a non-competitive atmosphere for the free skier.
Explorer E
For the skier looking to improve specialized skills on any terrain on the mountain or improve terrain park specific skills with participants having similar “on-snow” goals.Ages 8-12: All Mountain Explorer E (no terrain park)
The ultimate free skier experience! The “All Mountain Explorer” will fulfill your every mood, whether it’s steeps, powder, gates, glades or bumps, you’re in luck. This program is focused on improving your all-around skiing!Ages 8-12: Terrain Park Explorer E (terrain parks)
This program will allow any skier to improve their terrain park skill and style by use of video analysis, competing with fellow explorers, or just skiing with your friends in the park.Teen Programs
Although set in a group atmosphere the “Teen Explorer” is designed to focus on the individual needs while pushing each participant’s envelope.
Ages 12-15: All Mountain Teen
The ultimate free skier experience! If you’re looking to ski the whole mountain, this is the program for you. Ski everything from corduroy, steeps, trees and powder, this program is created for individual feedback to ensure success in any terrain.Ages 12-15: Terrain Park Teen
Ready for the “step-up” in your terrain park skiing? Ski with this train and you are bound to get your park skills dialed in. With our sweet progression parks and tips from our certified park staff, using video analysis, you’ll gain all the experience and confidence to progress to local freestyle competitions.Ages 12-16: Teen Leader
This program involves leadership development, teaching dynamics and group management with an introduction to instructor training/assistance for future consideration in snow sports.Explorer Programs for Snowboarders
Low Riders (ages 4-6)
There is nothing like having fun with kids your own age! Have your little ripper make turns with fellow riders, have fun learning to make turns on the gentle green terrain located on the lower section of the mountain.Explorer
Ages 7-12: All Mountain (no terrain park)
This program is for the rider who wants to ride any type of terrain in any type of conditions surrounded by a posse of their own.Ages 7-12: Terrain Park Rider
this new program is designed for the rider that wants to take their snowboarding to the next level in the terrain park. Using video analysis to help students learn visually and coaches for assisting in developing a personal skill progression, along with competing with fellow Explorers.Teen Programs
These teen specific programs use the teen mind and creativity for leadership development and competition based terrain par session.
Ages 12-15: All Mountain Riders
If you’re looking to ride anything and everything, this is the program for you. Ride everything from corduroy, steeps, trees and powder while our highly trained coaches will provide individual feedback to conquer any terrain.Ages 12-15: Terrain Park Riders
This new program is designed for the rider that wants to take their snowboarding to the next level in the terrain park. Participating in explorer contests that will be conducted periodically in a variety of terrain parks and the use of video analysis will allow the instructor to provide individual feedback to improve terrain park skills and style. You’ll gain all the experience and confidence to progress to local freestyle competitions.Ages 12-16: Teen Leader
This program involves leadership development, teaching dynamics and group management with an introduction to instructor training/assistance for future consideration in snow sports.All programs will be based on a minimum participation level of 4 participants.
