Future Development

On November 4, 2009, Burke Mountain filed a Master Plan application for the development of Burke Mountain which includes the development of up to 1024 residential units, lift and trail expansion, Sherburne Base Lodge expansion, development of recreational facilities, and upgrades to water supply and wastewater treatment systems. The project is located in East Burke, Vermont, and will be evaluated by the District #7 Environmental Commission in accordance with the environmental criteria of 10 V.S.A., § 6086(a).

To date, Burke Mountain Operating Company (BMOC) has attended a pre hearing conference, site visit, and two separate formal hearings, with State Permitting Officials and Departments, project abutters, and other public participants.  BMOC will continue to work with State officials as this Master Plan permitting process moves forward.  Upon the completion of the Master Plan process, additional construction plans will need to be reviewed and approved by both State and Local officials. 

Copies of the application and Master Plan for this project are available for inspection by members of the public during regular working hours at the Burke Town Offices, the Northeastern Vermont Development Association office at 36 Eastern Avenue, St. Johnsbury, VT and the District #7 Environmental Office.
