### Sign the waiver before you arrive
Every rider needs a signed waiver before entering the bike park, once per season. Riders under 18 need a parent or guardian signature. Sign online and ride straight to the lift.

### Take a lesson
Bike Park 101 covers body position, braking, and reading a line, then takes you on a guided first run with a certified instructor. Our instructors will meet you where you are.

### Before You Ride
During bike park hours, the Sherburne access road is one-way down. Outside operating hours, uphill travel is permitted on designated routes with a season pass or signed waiver. No Bike Patrol on duty.
### Start mellow, work up
Start mellow and build from there. Get comfortable with the terrain, then work your way into more technical runs. Every lap teaches you something new.

# Burke Mountain Division Jr Program
Founded nearly a decade ago by Knight Ide and coached by Summer Ops Manager Alex McAndrew since day one, Mtn Division is Burke's advanced youth riding program. We focus on descending skills, line choice, fitness, and race strategy, though racing is never required. What matters most is the culture: riders support each other, take risks without fear, and progress at their own pace. This isn't an intro program, it's for kids who are already hooked.
### Who it's for
Ages 13–17, experienced riders
Riders should be comfortable on the Burke chairlift. Full-suspension bike with disc brakes, full-face helmet, and knee pads required. Younger riders considered on a case-by-case basis.
### Season & Cost
June 24 – September 18
Whole team practices Thursdays 4–7pm. Elite team (invite only) meets Wednesdays 4–6pm. Program fee is $550, plus $50 for elite members. Burke Bike Park pass is $50 for team members.

# Common Questions
What days is the bike park open? **Thursday through Sunday** from 10AM-6PM, plus labor day Monday, beginning June 6.
Beginning Sept. 25, Bike Park shifts to a **Friday–Sunday** operating schedule, with hours changing to 10AM–5PM.
Shuttle hours vary by day. Check the daily report for details and updates.
Closing day is Monday, October 12th, 2026
What do I do with my RFID card? Put it in your left pocket by itself. Not in a wallet, not with your phone, not near metal. The lift gates read it automatically. First-time visitors pay $5 for a card. Keep it — it reloads online for future visits.
What's the difference between the bike park and Kingdom Trails? The Burke Bike Park is a lift-served gravity trail system — you ride the chairlift up and descend on purpose-built downhill trails. Kingdom Trails is a cross-country singletrack network on surrounding land. They're separate systems with separate access, but physically connected.
What's the summit shuttle? The main chairlift (Sherburne Express) serves most bike park trails. The summit shuttle is a van that takes you to the top of Burke Mountain for access to three expert-only summit descents. Single shuttle ride is $10, or add unlimited shuttle rides to any bike park day pass for $15. Season passholders ride free.
Can I pedal up the toll road to the summit? Yes! You're welcome to ride your bike up the toll road to access the summit trails. If you'd prefer to drive up, vehicle self-shuttle is available for $10/trip or $20/all day (pay at the gate). Season passholders have free toll road vehicle access.
What class eMTB can I ride at Burke? You may only use a class 1 eMTB or an electric-assist aMTB. A Class 1 eMTB/ e-bike is defined as two wheeled cycles with fully operational pedals and an electric motor assist of no more than 750 watts (1 horsepower) and (i) are incapable of propelling the vehicle at a speed of more than twenty (20) miles per hour; and (ii) disengage or cease to function when the rider stops pedaling or the vehicle's brakes are applied.

### Your Responsibility Code
**Know and Follow the Code. It is Your Responsibility.**
- **STAY IN CONTROL**. You're responsible for avoiding objects and people.
- **KNOW YOUR LIMITS**. Ride within your ability. Start small and work your way up.
- **PROTECT YOURSELF.** Use an appropriate bike, helmet and protective equipment.
- **INSPECT AND MAINTAIN YOUR EQUIPMENT**. Know your components and their operation prior to riding.
- **BE LIFT SMART**. Know how to load, ride and unload lifts safely. Ask if you need help.
- **INSPECT THE TRAILS AND FEATURES**. Conditions change constantly: plan and adjust your riding accordingly.
- **OBEY SIGNS AND WARNINGS**. Stay on marked trails only. Keep off closed trails and features. Ride in the direction indicated.
- **BE VISIBLE**. Do not stop where you obstruct a trail, feature, landing or are not visible.
- **LOOK AND YIELD TO OTHERS**. Look both ways and yield when entering or crossing a road or trail. When overtaking, use caution and yield to those ahead.
- **COOPERATE**. If involved in or witness to an incident, identify yourself to staff.

- No passengers carrying children in their arms, or in any type of pack
- Children must close the safety bar independently
- Accommodates tires up to 4.8" (fat bikes)

### On the mountain
- Dogs must be leashed at all times, no lift access
- No unauthorized drones on Burke property
- No alcohol or smoking on chairlift
- Thunder/lightning: 30-min lift hold per event
