Take the scenic toll road up to the summit of Burke Mountain and experience our scenic hiking trails and breathtaking views of Willoughby Gap and the surrounding area.
Located just 15 minutes away, hike the trails of Willoughby State Forest, home to Mount Pisgha, Mount Hor and the stunning glacial lake, Lake Willoughby. Or you can explore the surrounding Darling State Park and nearby Victory State Forest. Miles of unmarked trails are there to be discovered, and primitive camping is welcome.
If you're looking for a different view, join the hang-glider and paraglider pilots launching off Burke Mountain from Upper Warren’s Way. If that’s too extreme, take a seat on the Sherburne Express chairlift for a breathtaking scenic chair ride up to Mid Burke.
Visit D-N-D Stables in East Burke and take a scenic ride through the forests of the Northeast Kingdom on horseback, called the “quintessential Vermont experience” by Trail Rider Magazine.
Or explore the beautiful scenery of the Northeast Kingdom with guided ATV tours from NEK Adventures out of nearby St. Johnsbury, Vermont.
